Blue Moon Art Gallery (BMAG) is hosting the “Fine Art News” exhibition through January 26. The first open-call group exhibition organized by BMAG includes over 30 artworks.
Director of Blue Moon Art Gallery LLC E.Esunge said that most of the artwork is new and that the main goal of the exhibition is to present work by new and professional artists to the public.
E.Amarzaya’s “Dream Keeper” was a piece that returned to the gallery for “Fine Art News”, and is always popular with visitors to the gallery. She has been painting since 2004.
Mongolian tradition calls for hanging a felt fox over a new baby’s crib. It is believed that the felt fox keeps watch over the baby, chasing away bad dreams while the baby sleeps.
E.Amarzaya pays tribute to this tradition in “Dream Keeper”, which includes a fox, clouds painted in Mongolian zurag style, and the stylized roof of a ger against a night sky.
When E.Amarzaya was asked about her inspiration for “Dream Keeper”, she said, “I got the inspiration when my baby stopped crying after I hung a felt fox over my baby’s crib while my baby was crying in the night.”
