As of the first half of 2016, Mongolia exported 9.36 million tons of coal, 4.5 million tons of which was transported through Gashuunsukhait Port and 4.8 million tons of coal was exported through the Shiveekhuren Port.
In comparison to the same period in 2015, the coal export volume through the Shiveekhuren Port increased by 70 percent. Among the nation’s coal exporters, the export volume of Mongolyn Alt LLC improved by 81 percent compared to last year.
In the first half of 2016, Mongolyn Alt exported 2.3 million tons of coal, SouthGobi Sands exported 1.7 million tons of coal, and Usukh Zoos exported 660,000 tons of coal. Industry analysts underlined that the increase in coal export volume brought positive results for entities and contributed to generating revenue for local budgets.
