On Saturday, Speaker of Parliament Z.Enkhbold participated in the closing ceremony of Khaan Quest 2016, an international peacekeeping operations training exercise.
During the closing ceremony, Minister of Defense Ts.Tsolmon said that the responsibility and obligation of the United Nations is increasing in the international arena, demanding more effort and professional skills from UN workers, especially peacekeepers. Minister Tsolmon underlined that Khaan Quest 2016 military exercises were directed to meet this demand. He thanked all the Mongolian participants who had successfully fulfilled their duties on behalf of the Mongolian Armed Forces.
Speaker Z.Enkhbold also thanked the foreign participants of Khaan Quest, and said that Mongolia adheres to open foreign policy that respects peace and peacefully coexists with other justice seeking nations.
He underlined that Mongolia has been organizing Khaan Quest with the United States Pacific Command (USPACOM) and USPACOM’s World Peace Initiative. Z.Enkhbold stressed that the reputation, importance, and scope of Khaan Quest is increasing from year to year.
The Speaker said that he was happy that the event has become not only a regional but multinational event.
