Yesterday, the Ministry of Labor organized Every Profession is Great Day from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Chinggis Square.
The event aimed to reach 9th and 12th graders, parents, and young people, and to offer them vocational and professional guidance.
Fifty-eight vocational centers, eight from the north and central regions, seven from the southern region, four from the eastern region, five from the western region, and 26 from Ulaanbaatar participated in the day’s events. They organized an exhibition of their students’ creations, introduced their activities, and demonstrated their professional skills.
“A vocational promotion event has been organized before by the Ministry, but this year we’ve expanded it to become a day-long event,” said Head of the Vocational Education and Training Policy Management Department at the Ministry of Labor B.Altanjargal.
During the opening ceremony, Labor Minister G.Bayarsaikhan said that 53 of the 193 vocational training centers in Mongolia were being represented. “Professional education and training centers are unique in the sense that they create real products by developing their students’ skills. The exhibits here, including devices and equipment for agricultural and construction use, musical instruments, souvenirs, garments, and food products, are sure to attract investors and employers.
“This shows that everyone with a profession is a wealth creator. We are working to develop our vocational and training centers to an international level, so that they prepare students who are fully prepared and in demand in the labor market. I hope you all understand the innovations and changes in the industry, and the importance of professional technical knowledge. I hope you all choose the profession that’s right for you,” said G.Bayarsaikhan.
The event started with a dance performance by 200 students from the vocational training centers.
